The Role

You will provide specialist psychiatric clinical care across inpatient, community and mental health emergency settings, taking overall responsibility for the care and management of patients.

Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will contribute to high-quality, patient-centred mental health services while supporting education, research and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing specialist psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment
• Providing inpatient and outpatient psychiatric consultations
• Managing patients across acute, inpatient and community settings
• Participating in multidisciplinary clinics, meetings and case reviews
• Providing clinical leadership and specialist advice to the broader healthcare team
• Supervising and teaching registrars, junior doctors and medical students
• Supporting education and development of multidisciplinary team members
• Participating in or leading research activities
• Contributing to quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives
• Supporting improved patient safety, clinical outcomes and service delivery

What We’re Looking For

• Fellowship of the RANZCP or equivalent specialist qualification
• Eligibility for Specialist Registration in Psychiatry with the Medical Board of Australia
• Demonstrated experience providing specialist psychiatric care across acute, inpatient and community settings
• Strong clinical assessment and management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Strong leadership and collaborative skills
• Commitment to teaching, supervision and professional development
• Interest in research, quality improvement and clinical governance
• Patient-focused approach with a commitment to high-quality mental health care
